Targets and Tasks

The research Network TIM helps increase overall communication, information and coordination among the network’s users through appropriate activities and measures.

TIM stimulates and facilitates the discussion of up-to-date expert knowledge. In additon it helps to identify current research and development topics, supports the building of research teams and assists in transferring expert knowledge. Two important measures it takes to do so are

  • Development of Better Communication Structures

▪    Contact details, meetings, knowledge and data transfer (file server)

▪      TIM Office, website, publications, public relations and media communication, international contacts

  • Establishment of a General Wiki-Based Information Platform (TIMi)

◦      Knowledge Pool (accessing snapshot information via links, tags and search function)

▪      General Traumatology (injury patterns, AIS-scales etc.)

▪      Inury Criteria (concept, basic data, evaluation)

▪      Injury Risk Curves (basic data, statistical procedures, quality)

▪      Laws, Standards, Regulations (snapshot information, references)

▪      Material Data for Biomechanical Models (inventory of basic data, evaluation)

◦      Publications Database (lliterature research on trauma biomechanics)

Beyond that the research network TIM aims at a joint development of biomechanical models in order to calculate, analyze and visualize injury mechanisms. It therefore supports

◦      Quality Management (structured and transparent evaluation process)

◦      Version and Model Management (systematically collected models)
